IDD meets Digitale Klasse

This group show was created in 2010 to celebrate the initiation of an international exchange program between Tama Art University Tokyo and the Berlin University of the Arts. This program allows Tama students to study in Berlin, in exchange for which UDK students get the opportunity to study in Tokyo.

My task was to coordinate all things concerning Digitale Klasse, like art direction of the exhibition catalog, posters etc. , to plan the exhibition space, to coordinate the delivery of artworks from berlin to tokyo and back and to prepare print-outs for documentation.

3 month of intensive work were needed to prepare the exhibition „IDD meets Digitale Klasse“, where TAU showed their graduations works of the Media and Art Class and UdK showed recent works of the last two semesters with the focus of “Indie Design” and “Extended Photography”.

One week before the opening show started Prof. Jussi Ängeslevä, one assistant and 4 students from Berlin arrived in Tokyo to support the installations of all artworks.

Finally at the opening show on 4th of March 2010 curators, professors and many students visited the talk show, where they all had the chance to talk about projects, to exchange ideas, experiences and cultural life.

At the talk show the japanese media artist Daito Manabe hold a lecture of his recent work and Dr. Alvaro Cassinelli explained new ideas of the interaction design laboratory at the Tokyo University. Prof. Jussi Ängeslevä talked about the Digital Media Department at the UdK and explained some of the exhibited art works.

we had a great time :) thanks all
